As soon as Garcia connected the left hook the fight was over and the referee did not even bother to count to 10 before stopping the fight. Dissecting his win over Fonseca, Garcia said:

I seen the left hook, it was there. I just needed to let him commit to a shot. So I let him get comfortable and I caught him right between the shot. It’s a perfect left hook. That’s what they call it.

It was all respect between Garcia and Fonseca once the fight was over. However, Garcia just put the lightweight division on notice with yet another quick finish against a tough opponent.

With this win, Ryan Garcia has kept his unbeaten streak intact and has secured his 17th KO victory in 20 fights. After the fight the lightweight champion, Davin Haney stepped into the ring and called Garcia out for a fight. It is to be noted that these two lightweight elites have a history between them when they were amateurs.
